At Sandwich Infant School, we have a representative from Kent Young Carers that support some of our pupils.

Children as young as five can be considered to be a Young Carer.  Young Carers are classed as caring for family members (including a sibling) with one or more of the following:

• Chronic illness
• Disability
• Neurodivergence
• Substance abuse
• Living with grandparents
• Mental health concerns

If you feel your child should be classed as a Young Carer, please do not hesitate to speak to staff or make a referral via the Kent Young Carers.
